About Me and Disclaimers *Please Read*

My name is Mike, I am a 29 year-old teacher from Charleston, South Carolina who decided to move to Kaohsiung, Taiwan to teach English and see the world.

Before you read, some disclaimers:

Everything that I write about in this column I have personally seen, heard, experienced, or been in the presence of. I do not write about any place that I have not personally been, therefore when I make an observation or comparison, I am writing my opinions about my experiences with that particular thing or place.

I do have many opinions. I choose to express those opinions often. I will make the distinction between what is fact and what is my opinion.

I do have a sense of humor that can be an acquired taste. I am not politically correct. If you cannot handle the occasional bad language or dirty joke, then I suggest you don’t read this blog.

All writing and pictures are my own. If I am quoting someone, I will give them credit for their quote. If I use a video or picture that is not my own, it is just to illustrate a point and I will cite that it is not mine.

I am not rich. Everything I do is on a budget. I don’t have the money to just fly out to Singapore or Hong Kong for the weekend.

This is not the “I had such a great time in Rome with my BFF’s” blog. You will find great stories and o.k. pictures here, but this blog isn’t here to brag about my last vacation to the world. What you will find here is what it is really like to go live (not vacation) in a foreign country.
